New at Weshop

Icecream season is almost over (it’s cold out!) but that won’t stop you, will it?

Weshop has recently been stocking up on Jake’s Old-Fashioned, an amazing, (relatively) local super premium brand that you just have to try.  Don’t know what super premium means?  It’s the food science equivalent of “kickass”:

All Jake’s icecreams are made on site at Jake’s Ice-Cream and Sweet Shoppe in New Hampshire with real cream and other simple, no-nonsense ingredients.  They come in adventurous flavors that are inevitably delicious (unlike the short-lived strawberry-basil icecream that the Coldstone in town was selling this summer).  So far, I’ve tried the coco with chocolate dipped cacao nibs and the coffee with chocolate-covered Colombian coffee beans.  Both were so good I forgot to use a bowl.  Apparently there is also maple-bacon… if you try it, share your thoughts.

No points?  Bribe someone with points to buy you a pint.  Trade them something great from price chopper (fish, meat, decent vegetables) or pick up some choice apples, which are coming into season now, from Middlesex fruitery.  *mini review* The staff will touch the fruit for you to be sure it doesn’t bruise–yes, I thought this was hilarious also, but the results speak for themselves (and, apparently, have been doing so for over 100 years).  The fruitery only takes cash; you can visit them at 191 Main street. *end mini-review*

Also, if you haven’t noticed, the Weshop suggestion board is gone!  Lobby to bring it back!  And then write in more Jake’s flavors 🙂
