Whole Wheat Quickbread with Oats and Honey

It’s definitely not the prettiest thing in the world, but it’s easy, fast, and tastes great.  (The cheese pictured is Yancey’s Fancy Wasabi Cheddar, which you can get at Price Chopper.  It’s incredibly kick-ass.  You know… as far as cheese goes.)

Prep: Negligible

Bake:15-20 minutes

Makes: a small loaf.  About 4 or 5 pieces of bread

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1.5 Tablespoons honey (or molasses, agave syrup, or maple syrup…)
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
  3. Plop the dough onto a baking sheet
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
  5. EAT!
